I am a self taught artist. Have always loved to draw and paint since a very young age. Creative endeavor is a big part of my life. After high school graduation I took several art classes from a community college. Over the next few years, I learned more about layout and design, photography, and illustration. I had a chance to illustrate a magazine for teens for couple of years. Great experience! Over the years since, I have done various commissions for different people. Having a family meant that I would be teaching my own kids how to draw and paint. I also had a chance to teach elementary school children how to draw and paint and create fun crafts for several years, more recently. But all along, creating art has been part of my life story. I have been learning and perfecting my craft for over 35 years now and still seem to fill up plenty of canvases and papers with doodles and paint and lots of color. Just a whole lot of love, life, growth, family, and paint thrown into the mix. In short creating makes me happier person.
My chosen mediums tend to be watercolor and acrylic paints. I fell in love with watercolor painting just out of high school. The flow and surprise of the medium had me hooked. It has a delicate beauty and feeling of transparency. Acrylic paints are also much enjoyed because of their ability to dry quickly, as I am not the world's most patient person, and because of the cool textures and colors that are available. The capability to be watered down to an almost watercolor style is great as well. They have the unique and wonderful ability to be applied to many different surfaces. Hoping that my art will brighten your day and help you to see and feel a bit of beauty and joy. |
